BIO - INFORMACIÓN PERSONAL

Hello, my name is Juan Ortiz. I am from Colombia, South America. I am the ESL third grade teacher at Thomasville Primary School. I have been teaching English as a Foreign and Second Language for 24 years. I have taught Elementary, Middle and High School. This is my sixth year at TPS. I have a Bachelor’s Degree in Teaching English and Spanish as Foreign Languages, a specialization in Applied Linguistics to English Language Teaching, and a Master’s Degree in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL). I love teaching and I want my students to succeed at school and in life.

I always have high expectations of ALL my students and I encourage them to work hard during the year to achieve their goals. I was TPS/TCS Teacher of the Year in 2016-2017. I am sure this year my ESL third graders are going to do a great job so let’s start working together to help them show their best.

Hola, mi nombre es Juan Ortiz. Soy de Colombia, Sur América. Yo soy el maestro de ESL de tercer grado en la escuela primaria Thomasville. He estado enseñando inglés como lengua extranjera y como segunda lengua por 24 años. He enseñado en escuela primaria, media, y secundaria. Este es mi sexto año en TPS. Tengo una licenciatura en Enseñanza de Inglés y Español como Lenguas Extranjeras, una especialización en Lingüística Aplicada a la Enseñanza de Inglés y una maestría en Enseñanza de Inglés a Hablantes de Otras Lenguas (TESOL por sus iniciales en inglés). Me encanta enseñar y siempre quiero que mis estudiantes tengan éxito en la escuela y en la vida.

Siempre tengo altas expectativas de TODOS mis estudiantes y los motivo para que trabajen duro y alcancen sus metas. Fui el Maestro del Año de las escuelas de Thomasville el año 2016-2017. Estoy seguro que este año mis estudiantes de ESL de tercer grado van a hacer un gran trabajo, así que empecemos a trabajar juntos para ayudarlos a dar lo mejor que tienen.
