alright so this is the team talk we're reviewing and preparing for next school year but first I wanted to do a little check in we start out with and it's nice to have a nice smile group is there one thing that you did or recently happened to you that was really great but if I share something y'all know I'm going to be a grandma play scary songs ever yes my son's wife is pregnant okay graduation call will will the world's wife is pregnant the baby's due and it's a girl and she's due in October then I'd be like you definitely the best thing in the whole world okay anybody else have something that's great that's happened anything exciting they want to share I finished moving my room to the Lorenzo's room she's retiring and then they use my classroom for a third grade class so right closer to you guys yeah yeah yeah alright anybody else all right then I wanted to the next thing I would do is just kind of review last week want to check in if you were here last week or questions you can ask your child or yourself so I'm just going to ask the four questions and see if anybody either ask their student their child or themselves and all that kind of work so the question one was what did you do today to move your body number two is how did you exercise your mind 3 what did you do to help our family and that can be your school family home family with whatever your family is currently and what was the most funniest today and anybody do any of those questions this week call answer at 1 me and my boys went walking and they went rode their bikes and scooters at the park near my house so that was good that's how we moved our body for 30 minutes at least yeah that's good that's great Wednesday and Thursday stationary bike in my basement and Ari has been blowing me out the Water by two and a half miles and we brought the exact same a time that's great exercise mostly consists of moving my treadmill from one spot to the other MLB my desk email setting my desk up every weekend movie Next so yeah that's a really good exercise all right well the next thing and you guys probably all have this but I want to go over it just in case we have a parent that watches the video this week is the return of the second round of school work and assignments pictures of the third and final pack worked at a school assignments also if an opportunity for parents to pick up families to pick up anything with their child left in the classroom and the Cubbies and local Aldi bagged up if any parent need to get any of their student medication just be watching out for a phone call or email for an admin they're going to connect with you too Coordinated Time to pick that up and that's this week Ashley when they support at the door and we have it so we've been giving parents to medication with the pick up medication when you pick up assignments or drop off iMessage that's between 8 and 2 everyday this week does that include Friday I think that we have people signed up for Friday yes to also help with that great and the next Monday in case anyone forgot it's Memorial Day it's a school holiday so we want to make sure everybody gets to sleep in a little extra rest that day and you're up for the official last day of instruction which is next Wednesday May 27th that's the last day for Zoom meetings it's the last day for instruction the left it for the words and it will be also be our last 10 talk with Miss White will be bringing us some summer resources and activities that you can do during the summer on May 29th student work should be completed uploaded and turn in at May 29th and that's the day the teachers will begin to work on reports and submit grades and getting that all coordinated May June June 10th the report cards will begin to get mailed out begin to get put aside to get put out in the mail July 13th is kindergarten screening if you have a child or know someone who has a child will be 5 on or before August 31st please go to our website and get signed up for screening then someone will contact you within 24 hours to confirm that time and then July 20th to the 24th is the preschool screening so if you know anyone who has a child will be for Honor before August 31st please get the package for the application for preschool that's available at Thomasville primary on Mondays from 8 to 2 you can pick up the packet you can get your paperwork copy and you can drop off your packet anybody have any other dates information there's also a link on the website if you want to have your child screen you can call you can go on the fill out very similar to what kindergarten did Monica I will get in contact with them and I don't start on Monday thank you so much for the information and just to make sure you don't kiss you don't know the website is TTS. CCS. K12. NC. Us and you can go there to get signed up for both kindergarten and preschool information yes it's been so we had a survey for ESL parents so I would like to use this opportunity to let them know that the survey is out there at the end the same day that we are willing to yes yes we definitely want people we're going to talk about the survey for the tea and talk and the LL those are both available on our website under parent and you can scroll down and we really want to if you could encourage please go on and take those survey if they haven't attended attend talk all year if they have attended one would love the survey because what is basically going to do is discover the things that we have done this year that they want to repeat in the things that we want to do next year and so I just want to go over some of those things some of the topics to be covered this year we're reading with your child Common Core math we did a session on bullying we jumped carrot chips and ideas and both the bullying and the tips and ideas a lot of parents brought their own ideas and their own resources and their own situation to the table to share with things that they did to work that out and that was really that was really wonderful and helpful for one another and then we did a welcome to kindergarten families and next year one of the things we thought we do rather than just kindergarten families is have our first and talk kind of a getting started getting back together so we're looking at doing at not only encouraging new parents that are dropping their preschooler or kindergartener off for the first time that parents that are returning Sarah coming together for tea and talk so we can courage one another the new parents can maybe get questions answered not just by the staff but by other parents and kind of what they're going through maybe connect with some other parents to get started the school year with some of those connections they'll be able to form relationships with their kids are going through school another can't talk idea that we're looking at is Parent Portal I know there are several parents that know there's a parent portal but they're not Foster how to get into it and all of the specifics of that so we'd like to do a training with that and then we've had the head Librarian from Thomasville primary pot Thomasville Public Library has asked if she could come and do a chant talking to share some resources that are available that a whole lot of our family don't realize I didn't realize when I first started this job all the things that they can get at the public library from just not only the reading with the children in the books but they also have computer classes and they have lots of other resources so that's something we're looking at does anybody here have some ideas they want to share anything they want to throw out anything they input from their parents that you know they thought was a good thing or all right then the other thing we're looking at an survey is in the chat so if you could forward that to your parents if you guys want to take it that would be great cuz you guys have a pulse on what's going on we just would like to get as much input as we can as we're preparing next year next year we're looking at doing one month will do a morning session the next month will do an afternoon session just to kind of see how that goes if if we don't have any interest in one of the other then we'll just continue with like this year we did primarily in the morning we also will be looking at possibly doing Zoom Tan talk I don't know whether that would be a stand-alone 1/4 there's a way that we can do a zoom while we're doing what kind of looking at those options to see what's possible for that at this point I'm going to throw out to the parents the ones that take the survey and our ambassadors that will be coming to work shop on the possibility of just having a set date like we set the Zoom Tan talk so it's every Wednesday 1 week it's morning when we get snaps noon so for the tea and then possibly what we'd look at doing the same thing doing it the last Wednesday of the month either in the morning or the afternoon kind of month-to-month changing that and that's kind of all of the the information for what we've gone through this what we're looking at for next year love to have him put ideas suggestions comments about things that they like your didn't like anybody here have any comments questions concerns I don't know if you can do a zoom while you're presenting I'm not sure you can but I don't know how that you have to be listening to Cameron all that so you may want to think about Facebook live I don't know enough about Facebook sign up another option to do so that's a great idea set lights in Tulsa very successful I feel like the more of that bar fell at the mall we got War fairest of all each time it was a little more people each time I felt like this but I'm talking about right be at the school. We had a very good number of people to come and so we just encourage your parents if your washing to invite other parents to come to the zoo are these meetings sorry I'm sorry ideas meetings posted like in dojo yes greats right now that the meetings are posted in on Jojo and Facebook and and as we move into next year we'll make sure that we have the flat cuz we send the Flyers home with the students I used last year I would stand in the lobby and hand them out to anyone who came in the week before then but we will make sure that they're on dojo and I think that's going to be one of our best ways for reaching people cuz I know we have the largest population and post it on Facebook and I don't know if anybody tweets Twitter we can do that I don't personally hopefully soon as we can ask her as well yeah I was just singing that day they shared your message and then we can just add it to a Georgia page or our dojo class. is just taking a hit from another angle to that's great idea and I actually first posted my first Dojo message this week for it and trying to learn how to do some things myself so I don't have to keep adding to miss White's workload cuz you know I'm trying to get those things out there so I will work with that and do that even more and I'm wondering now that you mention that if we can post meetings on jojo cuz I know you can attach a video so some of that would be well worth looking into the vet in the more ways we can get it out and then with the concept of next school year will have parent ambassadors that are specifically being trained and brought together as a team to get the information out to even more resources so hopefully rtn stock will continue to grow and be something that even I would even like to see some of our parents meeting together as a group even without us kind of so that they have begin to form groups and some encouragement one another you can also invite Miss Ortiz next year so you can have some in your so information on ways to improve literacy or some of that to okay all right Hills have anything else to add comments how's everybody doing all right well that's all I have that nobody else has anything else to ask a question now that was me okay see you so without further Ado then I say you guys have a great three day weekend make sure that you do something really fun and I can talk in Spanish will begin on the hour you are all well come to join us and otherwise our last Epoch of the year will be next week at 9 to 10 and 10 to 11
