Amos Manor Miss Chambers I'm trying to figure out how to get the background like you have and working on it today you have to go into the zoom set up and the one like you'll discover the background here and us because I have like my window shades closed across the whole thing cuz you really need to have a backdrop for it to go nice that's my goal today well I have been watching I watch the one hour Zoom video today and I was just talking to loose like you can connect automatically with someone and your message you can do Instant Video I have a title 1 committee meeting next week and so I'm trying to figure out how to open it up where you can see documents that are on cuz I have I have three screens are connected to each other and one's a separate so I can working on multiple things at once and I actually pull up to show so I'm I'm really getting excited about this boom it I like it too I'm having fun with it yes Miss Snyder are you there I can see your name but I can't see your face I'm trying right now as we're talking to look at tell you where to go for the zoom one place that you can just look online and just stays background you can change I just do I use they're just fair standard once their default one says since I can't do it all the way across I kind of just thought oh well this will be just as fun when to throw update when you see a white I sent you a picture day thank you I will I'll check when I'm done hi everybody welcome are there getting all connected I was on a video conference meeting this morning and it was a whole bunch of people from New York it was parent engagement people from New York and I was It was kind of interesting cuz so many of them were saying that they haven't been able to connect with their families in and I was sharing with them just this idea and how we it works pretty good last week and we're just going to try it out so we're glad that were able to connect with everybody this way Miss White is going to lead art TN talk so we're going to wait just a few minutes give everybody a chance to get logged in and turned on and put your video on so we can see all of your smiling faces unless I'm high Angie Cline and I may have to jump out if y'all are still talking at 2:45 let's see what time is it you're not going to join the Spanish one at 3 I think we're going to have a few more people I invited lots of teachers this time and hope that they were able to forward some links to their parents and just a way to connect try to check in with everybody and see everybody's doing it this week the top is going to be reading this why is going to leave with us right now I'm going to we will be videotaping all of our Zoom meeting so just be aware that we're going to videotape both the English and the Spanish and then this white will be posting those I Believe on Facebook web page web page underneath the parent and then there's a all the way drop down under Title One there is videos so just be aware that we will be videotaping Miss White begins her wonderful presentation I'm going to ask everybody should just be on mute just so that the background noises don't distract us and we can here and then afterwards once we start a conversation we really encourage everybody to everybody's got something to offer and so we're looking for everybody's input we want to have a time to check in with everybody I also want to mention I just got an email from dr. Gentry as most of the staff is it cheats yes not right sheets will be giving out free meals to people with children that they can go up to the cash register and say that they need a meal so we want to make sure that our teachers get that parents that are on that you share that with other parents just to make sure that our kids are all getting fed and so we really appreciate sheets for doing that people will be doing this every Wednesday one week it will be 2 to 3 for English the next week will be 9 to 10 for English and we're going to do reading Roundup electronic resources reading together next week then we'll be on spring break then mr. Klein will be doing a topic of engaging students with technology then miss Winfield will be talking about getting things done when we're at home checking in to see how everybody's doing before we get started everybody we should all talk at once but how about a thumbs up if you're doing okay to the side if you're like I could be better or some down we just need to really be checking in with you all right you guys will it we're going to go ahead and hand it over to miss white thank you Miss why for doing this today you are welcome you're very welcome okay I am going to start a telling you not to feel like you need to be writing this down or be ashamed because I already I've got a PDF of all the link and all the information spell officer that out on ClassDojo and I'm possibly on Facebook if that's possible so I'm going to switch over to share my screen make sure we're in English Okay can I see that picture Betty White we're good the first one that I want to share with you is really kind of like a gold standard I think it was one of the first web pages to ever come out and have books read aloud and that is Storyline Online it is a favorite of kids if you show them this they will probably they should know what you're talking about it's got a really wide selection of really thin popular books and their read by famous people numbers of the sag-aftra and so I just think they do a really good job like this I'm going to try this one real quick not all of it but a little introduction to the fullest they talk about what they're doing who they are I'll just skip ahead so you can just sing so that's just a quick quick show is good if you are going to like if you need something for your kids to do while you are fixing dinner cleaning up the house or whatever you need to do and you want them to have some reading experience this website is a really good option this next one story time from space that is also a really good option this one has astronauts you are reading stories in outer space and so they're all Elizabeth for science space or space space in some form so here's just a little example that one skip ahead so we can sing so I showed Alias some of these in the media center and the kids get really excited to know that like these books are being read by people who are actually orbiting the Earth inner and outer and those two both of those are easy to access the once you get it started the kids can listen to it by themselves and they don't require sign the next called the stable Cottage and I found this one actually through a different website but what I really like about this one other than you don't have to have a sign in is that it has read aloud in most languages you can anyone but you do have to watch this one because they have some free options and then I have some some paid off you can play the audio you can watch the video and then so once again this one good cuz you can pick your kids on it once you get them started you don't have to stand over them and make sure the pages are turning and that they're their reading is something that you can put them on the next to our little bit more complicated so I'm going to walk you through those this one is it's it's from Follett Destiny and Follett Destiny is the resource manager that are libraries in our district they opened up there bre book resources to family and so we can share this with our families we just can't post this information light out on Facebook are out in public we need to keep it with him in our families and so it's kind of complicated you go to the destiny discover you want to keep your location right here and then you entered this school in I'll let you be learning and it'll pop up you have a wide selection of books now these are not video books these are books well let me rephrase that these are not all straight videos their interactive book so here's one on money okay we'll try that again the password or the username is gas in the password is Follett but then open up a lot and they have a lot of different features some of them will have interactive mask some of them will have shorts this is one know that I would I would definitely recommend you do with your kids I wouldn't just put them on it and have them Ford Explorer I like this one has some of the pages have activities you can do on and some of them had just back some of them Interactive he says like this one has a word search that goes along with the book so she has several different things like different activities you have read aloud option so you will find that but not all of them and then the last one that I want to share with you is Spanish from the north Carolina Public Library one thing that a lot of parents don't know and I didn't even know until recently is that every kid who has a student ID number with Thomasville City Schools North Carolina a card for dairy resources go to the web page sorry I was trying to make sure it was working earlier did you want to end up on it co. Davidson. NC. Us last u74 library and then over here you'll have a login to your library account is that your life that your students library card is their ID number and so I had to borrow my son so don't anybody copy and their password is four digit but once you get in you have available to you all of the North Carolina Digital Library so there's a regular Digital Library with adult books there's a kids digital there's a tumble books subscription in the tumble books for the young kids and for the older group they have ebooks they have movies inside of the air videos and again because this is open and it's not super control it's one that I would definitely want to explore with my kid especially in the beginning while they're checking borrow it and watch it sounds like a library card at will have some how many you can check out I don't know what the limit is pretty it's fairly easy to use excuse me for a minute did you say that you're going to be forwarding all these websites to us yes I'll drop a PDF in the chat box and then I'll also share it on dojo and Facebook I'm with the sign-in instructions and down the steps to be taking it to the resource and so that was it if I have resources that when I started but when I started looking for free resources that would be good for our families and for our kids those are the five ones that I thought would be the most beneficial Crystal I love those that Library one is fantastic isn't it is exactly and they can use my video off in case I pick it up but I love that because our students they already have that memorized a lot of them and a lot of its also aren't those the ones on are the tags on their backpacks yes I think so I think that's fantastic so they'll be able to access more books but it is awesome because all of the North Carolina Digital Library which include stuff for adults there is genealogy resources so if you want to spend resourcing your genealogy you can access those which is what I usually do but we're trying to find books if you know the digital reserve a really great place to videos you can sign up for that it'll even send you like suggestions each week for that I found it was really cool they have a kindergarten cartoon section where they children can watch it in multiple languages the same cartoon witches I hear other languages and I believe you have the direct link on our website and I believe that was added earlier is also to get to the North Carolina public library resource thank you very much Miss why I also wanted to mention PBS Kids a daily they send out a daily email that includes video and games and projects it's all at once for the day and if you go to PBS Kids to the parents you can sign up for that and you will get that every single day and it's got a whole I mean it's got a whole slew of activities for each and every day with a topic which I think is really fun so I can see any I'm sorry my kids have been doing the PBS kids and they oh good cuz I kind of looked at it from my perspective so yeah good yes I actually have to pull them off and make them go and do prodigy or do you kids A to Z or do something else cuz they want to stage on PBS Kids how much for them to do so many options videos and there are so many things that they can do on that that is a really wonderful thank you for sharing that and I just you know I want to reiterate every time we get together I want to tell you guys you as parents and family are doing a great job this is not a usual circumstances teachers you're doing an amazing job so proud of you parents and families I know this is complete play out of your norm and your comfort zone so make sure that you're not getting too hard on yourself to not getting down here doing the best that you can and can reach out to us one another to get the resources that you need let us know if we sources get to you guys I'm just looking forward to see anybody has some questions from his wife some inside some things I want to share I think regarding to zoom meetings I don't know if it's something that anybody can answer or not but for the student meetings that we might miss because unfortunately I'm by Central worker so I am still having to go to work there's been a couple meetings that I've missed is there a way to go back and View and listen to those meetings once they've been closed off recording the meetings and if they report needing bacon send the link back to you and you should give it a full up the actual Zoom meeting at that particular time what I've been doing is sharing it on my Google account spirits in the Winx like already downloaded and save, I just feel not easier than having to spend it can I record it myself resume they should she can't recorded the song well I didn't think the teacher would would be the one that has to set up there also teachers enchantment Any teacher that wants you but also doing YouTube videos you can watch it anytime today they send that out 2 weeks so that's another term or said if they can definitely send those links. and if you have some preferences we can adjust I know that I put a lot of videos on jojo for anybody and the same questions are put on there but reach out to the teacher cuz you guys are doing an amazing job and I mom is well and it is not easy by any means to teach her own children but one thing please remember that you guys we had the kids so we had like 20 and we were teaching a having your own honestly is almost like 20 because they're your own and you guys are doing fantastic no matter what it is their social emotional well-being is so important right now is specially with this isolation and I know it's very hard for the parents but all of us teachers to toes to you guys because we'd know you have a very very hard job to keep them on a schedule we just thank you very much so we are a team still and you just let us know what you need we are here to help so I just want to say thank you for sure but let us know cuz we're Team if Us in like I just like to do it or what everyone has Al tabari say you are doing an amazing job from teachers to parents it is not an easy task and so if y'all need help please let us know is that for 84336 74474 probably the fastest and quickest way for me to because it comes up on my phone and I can get back to you from an email probably faster well I appreciate you and as a parent we totally appreciate the teachers what they do I don't know how y'all do it with 22 of this one you're entirely underpaid you now I physically agree teacher. underpaid people out there ever you guys deserve so much more than what you guys get you guys are all the credit I don't know how you do it my hat's off to each and everyone of you thank you thank you you're on the front line and we have a new appreciation for what you actually do because now we have to do it cuz I don't know if all my hair today where all them together but thank you are we having this weekly or bi-weekly weekly we have this it's that the English is it to next week it will be at 9 and so each week because of her and asked if we could move the time so 1 week it will start at 9 which will be next week or the following week it will start to an English and then the Spanish is immediate after the English one and I just in the chat I just added my email address if you want to make sure you get a personal invitation to our to these meetings please me and I will put you on the list to make sure that you get the link you don't have to attend but that way you'll always get the link to upcoming meetings that we're having to this and talk what about the how do I turn it in this week what's today today is I don't even know what day of the week is it is it you can turn in your packet we have boxes outside in the front and whatever the grade level is you just drop it in the bucket and then we will bring them in and the teachers will be able to go through them and get the students work and you pick up your it's April 8th and 9th April no I'm just paper bowls I know you have to turn in your homework there are the teachers aren't getting their going to sit in the bucket I believe it's for 24 hours before the teachers will get them so the teachers won't have them immediately after they're dropped off you're going to sit all chance of everything clearing and then the teachers will pick them up great question next week the system try to do a report able to pick up the work and it will be by teachers name and you will find your child's name and you will sign your name your child's name in the teacher's name to let us know that you take to work also we have a lot of ESL package that are going to be in there was going to be confusing so doctor more myself or going to man the speaker one day to make sure that ESL on O-Cedar getting there individual because Universal pack is going to ESL students are going to be individual for those so it's going to be a little chaotic but I think we're going to be all right in the next day or the to facilitate going to work on it take a trip I get to write packets thank you mr. Klein does anybody else have a question a comment information they're doing that they're finding great success with their own students brine homework I think we're all in this together I'm really proud of everybody specially the pictures I do guarding the food pick up next week will it also be curbside pickup as well like they did this week Miss Winfield do you know the answer is Mondays at times marisco I don't know the time but I think it's all day from 8:30 ish or so gone but I know some Monday they want me to drive through yeah I put it in the tattoo and then I believe they're doing calls on Saturday correct this is a reminder for the grab-and-go meals I know Saturday is usually when I get my call yeah yeah that's what formation any for some reason you don't you don't call are you don't know the hours you can always call a central office and ask for Brenda Wofford she is the the director for nutrition and the number do you have the number to central office of would you like me to give you the number I can put the number we have a number of Child Nutrition hotline also and I can go over and look that up and then come put it in the chat box thank you Miss White thank you Miss White oh good all right well there's a lot of people so if you haven't talked and you have something I just I would love to go around and just a thumbs-up just something that you're thankful for something that's been really positive with your kids this week I'm just around and see if you guys are something to share Miss Preston anything to share I'm just grateful for grace and mercy in all aspects of my life I'm blessed to be able to be at home being able to do what I do love what I do and still reach out to my students and just soak up all this time with my three children y'all pray for me though antenna wow wow bless you let's see if I can find somebody else who's up I haven't heard we haven't heard anything from E M Gordon okay hold on well I was invited in this is my first session I have just that into some wonderful resources and I am so appreciative of them and you doing an excellent job yourself. thank you thank you so much let's see mr.
